With school back in session we are featuring our latest educational work that has been recently completed for the new school year; Alpine’s latest performing arts center, renovations and additions to multiple Edison elementary schools, and exclusive physical education upgrades at Mamaroneck High School.

Our approach to educational design is based on over 50 years of unparalleled success in the industry. We strive to enhance education through learning environments that are built to advance K-12 and higher education school systems.  For more information visit our educational resource brochure.

ALPINE PUBLIC SCHOOL1-edit
LAN recently completed the addition for Alpine School’s new performing arts and community center for the 2016-2017 school year. The center was designed to house the District’s performing arts curriculum and to accommodate as an auditorium space for the town.  The design of the addition also provided for a central courtyard, named the living learning center where students and the community interact with constantly changing educational displays and experiences. Other renovations to the school included an expanded media center, new main offices and improved circulation including ADA accessibility throughout the majority of the building.

MENLO PARK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL015-dscn5597
An eight classroom addition to Menlo Park Elementary School was recently completed for the new school year to accommodate for the growing population in Edison. The design of the modern classrooms provides a space filled with daylight and utilizes LED light fixtures with daylight harvesting and motion sensors to provide energy efficiency.  LAN is also in the final phases of construction for the school’s new gymnasium addition, which features a new welcome entrance and drop-off area, a new instrumental music room and stage. The gymnasium addition is scheduled to be completed mid November 2016.

JAMES MONROE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLdsc_0296
The new two-story 67,000 square foot James Monroe Elementary School is scheduled to open late October 2016.  The new school was constructed on the site of the former school which was destroyed in a fire March 2014. History of the former structure was incorporated into the design as the main entrance of the school features a wall with brick from the original school with lettering for James Monroe School.  The design of the school provides ample natural light throughout the building, 28 modern classrooms, an advanced media center with the latest technology, gymnasium, and cafeteria.  A backup generator system provides for a gathering space for the community that the town previously did not have. The school has air conditioning and fire safety features throughout the building.

MAMARONECK HIGH SCHOOL
Mamaroneck Union Free School District approved a $9.3 referendum project to renovate Physical Education spaces and existing locker rooms at Mamaroneck High School.  The project includes renovations to underutilized spaces and addresses health and safety concerns of current conditions.  The outcome of the project will be state-of-the-art, safe facilities that provide flexibility to meet the changing needs of the PE program and will also support the District’s interscholastic sports teams and community for years to come.  The project is currently at the New York State Education Department (NYSED) awaiting approval of completed plans and specifications. Construction is set to begin Summer 2017.
