Great Scott! LAN Associates took a trip “Back to the Future” and upgraded the lighting of the Village Clock Tower, located in the heart of Goshen. In collaboration with the Liberty Lighting Group, LAN utilized state-of-the-art LED-technology manufactured by Tempo to accent the Village Clock located in the steeple of the First Presbyterian Church.
“LAN Associates set our flux capacitor and breathed new life into Goshen’s beloved clock tower with the help of the community,” said William Hodges, Director of Electrical Engineering at LAN Associates. “If there is a need somewhere in Hill Valley for a re-vamped Courthouse Square, the city can look to Goshen’s newest addition for inspiration.”
The new LED lighting strips that now illuminate the Church’s clock tower were installed by volunteers from the congregation and with a generous donation from the Goshen Masonic Lodge #365. The new lighting reduces energy consumption from ~600 watts to less than 64 watts per clock face, equating to less energy than one incandescent lamp with no maintenance requirements for more than 15 years.
“Our congregation is elated by this futuristic enhancement to our place of worship,” said the First Presbyterian Church Pastor. “Our church and our congregation’s spirits are soaring.”
The First Presbyterian Church of Goshen in New York was constructed in 1871 and is claimed to be the tallest standing structure in Orange County. With its notable steeple that stands well over 186 feet, it accommodates the Village Clock.
LAN Associates urges residents of Goshen and the surrounding areas to take in the spectacular new addition to a historic landmark recognized throughout Orange County.
